I guess this male chauvenistic attitude is imbibed and sunk into the society..Even well educated men with supposedly broad outlook of life ultimately want a wife who cooks cleans and takes care of him..I have once heard from someone very close to me say "Why dont u consider being a house wife?? Its a demanding task"..Agreed..Being a home maker IS a demanding task..I ve seen my mom..I ve seen his mom..They are one of the best managers..But then what I have noticed that they arent financially independant..their work is never shared...They dont get holidays..I just have one question "How do u expect me to trust any man?" whats the asssurance that he might not just leave u in the middle and go behind something better??I would have no money no life...Just an experience of cleaning cooking and washing..Ok..Lets look at it from the other side..The woman who works and manages a home..How many men are really ready to take exactly 50% of the household work..If I cook one day, he needs to cook the other day..If I sweep and mop the house one day, he got to do it the next day..Well I bet 99% of the men would never agree to this..They expect superwomen..Someone who can manage and balance everything..And they will keep exploiting them in all possible ways.I can hear many men saying "I will I will" Come on guys.you know thats never gonna happen!!!!Its not only with Indian men, its with men all over the world..Well people I dont want to blame all men..Its the way the society has evolved to be..No matter how much we talk about freedom for women, ready to face the fact...we are one category of unprotected group that will be exploited forever...
Phew....I am usually never so feminist..But I guess the monkeys of Ram Sena has really made be furious...Its the second time I am personally facing it after the imposition of dress code in Anna University..Again targeted only against girls..Though there were codes for guys as well, it wasnt as rigorously talked about as it was imposed on girls..Gosh who the hell are you to talk about what a girl should wear??And if you expect girls to be spoiling the tradition why dont guys also wear dothi???

Well... ingrained with hatred towards other cultures, brought up with a view of the superiority of the male specie, educated (if that's what anyone can call it) in a group of only the like-minded.. that's what you get. Sad & frustrating.

Btw, yes, we've met, in company of the 'krazzy' fella @ forum.
Cheers!
Blog to world's end... :)
It is sad and frustrating..Sometime I feel I should be doing much more than just blogging about it..But failing on exactly what is that I can do!!
phew! my friend passed me your blog link on orkut:)
It is nothing new with the indian society. If we demand space for our equality, we would be going against the society.. men have gone aheand from the veshti lungi into suits even for traditional functions. If that is not blasphemy of culture I have no reason to believe why a WOmen Not Wearing a saree constitiutes blasphemy of culture..
My heights was when Ram Sena said women are our mothers and sisters and they should behave like them!! They make me swear even if I am against using filthy words!!!

Hahahahah I am that friend Caro :)
Just read your Blog after a very long time! What an experience!!
I know nothing about politics, but I think most of what you have written is agreeable.
But there is one point I can contradict:
""""How do u expect me to trust any man?" whats the asssurance that he might not just leave u in the middle and go behind something better??I would have no money no life...Just an experience of cleaning cooking and washing"""
No money no life??? - A sad fact reflecting that in today's world, everything has become money-centered.
Also, a person who loves you truly won't (never ever) leave you in the middle.
